IS STRATEGY DEAD?



As we get going in this new year, we raise a provocative question: Is Strategy Dead? Not merely to be provocative. Rather, to pull together a number of, now, long-running and momentum-gaining trends - across virtually all sectors of marketing. If, like us, you assume that gaining a sustainable competitive advantage is at the heart of any legitimate strategy, these long-running and momentum-gaining trends are not merely disturbing. They indicate that marketing strategy may in fact be dead - or, at least, in dire need of life support.
